Once Alya realized how tasty ice-cream is, I had to figure out a healthier option instead. So we tried homemade frozen yoghurt treat. This fun activity kept my toddler so engaged in the process, as she was mixing different ingredients and observing different results of colors and tastes. The favorite part was sprinkling of course 🙂 And she couldn’t be more happy as she tried her own “ice-cream” later on.
- 4 oz plain yoghurt
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon honey
- confectioners sugar to taste
- 1 teaspoon your favorite jam
- 1 teaspoon of peanut butter
- 3 small containers ( I used silicone cupcake liners)
- sprinkles to top (optional)
Divide the frozen yoghurt into three portions. Add cocoa and confectioners sugar to the first one; honey to the second; jam to the third. Mix till incorporated. Top with sprinkles. Leave in freezer to chill up to 30 minutes. Don’t over freeze, will become too solid.
Feel free to improvise and use your favorite jams, syrups or any other ingredients instead of given above. I used what I had in my pantry at the moment, and I’m planning to try some others next time.
